Samantha's Challengeby NeuferlandComment: A girl and her horse ... what a wonderful concept ... illustrating the bond between her and her horse! I see portraiture more as a photograph or painting showing the face rather than the whole profile and taken in a more studio-like environment. Perhaps a close up of her standing near her horse while petting the horse's face or neck ... I think that would illustrate the special bond between the two more, and also would fit the portraiture challenge. |

It's In The Eyesby K-RobComment: Good DOF, good focus on the face, good portrait. Dogs can be persons too. |

Bill & Kimby TooCoolComment: What a lovely couple ... nice formal portrait ... like the softness, don't care much for the background, doesn't look like it is studio environment. |

All American Pug, He thinks he's human!by hallswelComment: Love that face ... just wish you didn't cut his/her right paw off. I also would have liked a tighter cropping because the background is busy and detracts from viewing the subject. That's just me though. |

Kateby BobsterLobsterComment: I like the lighting and the softness ... the colors are excellent too. My only beef is the loss of detail in the hair and the green tinge ... |

My Love...by toddheadComment: I am not a very good judge of portraits - but I like the skin tones and the dash of color and the highlighting of the eyes. Your viewers are readily pulled by the beautiful brown eyes. Just wished it was a little bit more off center. |

The Softer Side of Me...by aaronb532Comment: Of all the portraits in this challenge, this is the one that I come back to often. Composition and lighting are just exquisite ... I love that the shadows and shirt blend with the background and that the left eye is not under the shadows (seen a lot of these with what I call raccoon eyes). On the other hand, I just wished you used another model just because you're so recognizable now :-) ... no offense meant because you're an attractive model but the recognition factor might turn off some readers and give you a low score because you just won recently... wonderful job ... I hope to follow your set up someday. |
