Comment:
The shallow DOF sets the pie off from the background nicely.

Very interesting use of DOF. Possibly a slightly higher camera placement would have brought out the J in jinxed.

Comment:
Very nice separation of foreground from unsharp background. IMHO the ladybug could have used a bit more exposure. The background would be brighter, but I don't think that would matter much.

Comment:
It's a fierce-looking dragon, and well lighted, but I don't see enough difference in sharpness to meet the challenge.

Nice use of DOF to separate the flower from the vase and the whole thing from the background. The vase comes across as misty and mysterious.

Comment:
I like the idea of photographing a flower "in decline," and you have captured the colors and textures well. I would have liked this picture better if the ratio of sharp to unsharp were higher.

Very nice texture on the ice - I know this isn't easy to do. The wide variety of layers of unsharpness gives the picture depth.

The background is definitely out of focus, but it still comes through too busy. Something simpler and in tune with the doll would have been better, IMHO.

Nice use of shallow DOF to separate foreground and background. This was a good choice of background for this portrait; it doesn't compete.
