 This is iris is drying. The petal curl as it dies.

Cropped, USM, media, selective colour, levels, curves, B/C adjusted. Burned some of the background to increase contrast.

Hi JC...

This photo shows shallow depth of field quite well. The technique worked for the photo. As for the photo itself, I did not find a high level of interest in the subject. That's just my personal taste though. I couldn't find any particular point of interest that grabbed my attention.

If the photo had something with a soft focus in the foreground to indicate a 'Shallow Depth of Field' I would have given it another point.

I like the idea of photographing a flower "in decline," and you have captured the colors and textures well. I would have liked this picture better if the ratio of sharp to unsharp were higher.
