Simon's colorful feathersby hallswelComment: I love the colors, and the background works well in black and white. I think some feathering (no pun intended) at the border between bird and background would avoid the flat "pasted in" look. |

First Raspberry of the Seasonby nicoledbComment: That bright red luscious raspberry stands out aginst the background, but IMHO the other berries in the cluster should have been red as well. |

Balancing Balloonsby BassieComment: The balloons really stand out against the black and white background. I think the rider could have been a bit lighter to make him stand out as well. |

Summer Refreshmentby joannsComment: I really like the way the kids stand out in color, and the way the rest of the shot appears in B&W. |

Baby Bluesby trying2bstillComment: This looks a lot like the hand-colored shots of yesteryear. It's effective, and the red lips in addition to the blues adds some color variety. |

Oooops!by rll07Comment: An unusual twist on the challenge - desaturating the subject, rather than the background. But it works well in this case, and you caught a great expression. You did miss a little bit of blue around the shoulders that should have been desaturated to black and white. |

'tinker'by suemackComment: An especially nice rendition of what has become something of a cliche among desaturation shots. I probably would have entered a similar shot if could have gotten my cat to cooperate during the challenge period. I have taken a lot of desaturated cat-colored eyes in the past. |

Mother Nature Knows best!by trainComment: I like the colors, and the concept ofseparating plant life from background using desaturation. Very pretty shot. |
