Night Trainby kevrobertsonComment: This shot is so great on so many levels. First you have that awesome texture to the train going by and the platform. Its very "logan's run" sci-fi, but the you have the element of the woman with the umbrella. Thats just a ffantastic compositional element, simple and perfect. an umbrella at nigh and it isn't even raining, so far as we can tell.
one of the problems with people giving reviews at times is that they lose sight of the forest for the trees... they comment that your shot is crooked or grainy or a bit too light or dark. THose are the things that make your shot special in most cases, and the comment applies only if the shot is used as a print or in a magazine or formally. Only one shot will look like this one and for a reason.
Oh yeah, and another thing, I know that in life you can't pick your nicknames, but if I could, mine would be "Night train."

chatham-bars-fences-dpc-DSC.jpgby Bear_MusicComment: This shot really exemplifies the catching of a mood from a time of day adn perfection of light that is great- because it is not a blatant and overt as a sunset. Its really a documentary or action piece because your eye can't rest because of the water and the color of the pools.
Maybe its just the crop or focal length. Anyway, this is really nice and accomplishes a great deal. Certainly serene. (that sounds like an adult urinary protection product, sorry)

butterfly IIby friscaComment: I like teh fact that you are not all focused in on the subject with unreal sharpness... there is an ethereal feel, a fairy-like quality that comes through on this shot.
I have noticed that in many shots you noticeably move your focus and composition off center to include or exclude compositional items. You do this despite the fact that you might clip a subject. This works quite well as in your shots of the Museum or Hindu water Temple/Palace. The butterfly's wings hints at overexposure yet the quality achieved makes the butterfly look almost like Balsa wood. It's really fantastic. |

Golden Templeby friscaComment: absolutely beautiful. this has a classic look to it, like it was taken long ago, or with very wise eyes. |
