The Call of the Wildby skewsmeComment: Oh, what would Buck say? I mean, Jack London's one.
I personally do not like this shot at all. It shows a very unhappy stuffed animal and a lot of sharpening

I Robot, by Isaac Asimovby sfaliceComment: Alas, I did not read any of Asimov's short stories. All this science fiction stuff lies on my shelves collecting dust.
Robots and such.
Your horizon (or my eye) seems slanted.
A few halos here and there from too much sharpening. Your shot is likable. But I do not find it oo stimulating visually.
At least not for me.

"A Prayer for Owen Meany"by DudskiComment: I truly understand the use of HDR sometimes because it gives this surreal look, the hyperrealism that might be suited here to the book.
I did not read the novel but I know that on top of religion and faith that you obviously show, it's about war and friendship and fate.
I appreciate parts of this shot, mostly the ground with the beautifully radiant shadows, but the whole is not too inspiring and the image seems forced.

City-of-Glassby artistChanComment: I don't know anything about the book you are referring to but I believe that you showed it like it is: city of glass turning wrong. Does not seem to have a happy ending.
I like the tonality but the picture is a bit confusing, a little too inky in the shadows.

The Last Leafby dahlinComment: I assume that it's inspired by O'Henry's short story. A nice shot that could have been in a lot of other challenge topics. I like the background that reminds of a starry night but I find the picture a bit too common. The crude sharpening of the leaf is not very fortunate

Piercing by Ryu Murakamiby P-A-U-LComment: Did not read this particular Murakami book and upon glancing at the synopsis I do not think that it has to do much with it, save for the title.
Nevertheless, it's a good picture, a National Geographic type but in this context it does not move me at all.

Dr. Jekyll and Mr. Hyde (1886)by GarryComment: It's not clear to me which one is which here and I would have preferred a different approach to the book. Not enough of the split personality I am afraid.
It's a good image altogether that unfortunately does not captivate me.

The Picture of Dorian Gray by mrchhasComment: Seems like a clip from a movie but it's not convincing enough. It has all the elements but lost the pathos , the poignancy, the scream - perhaps it narrates too much. It seems too even. The shadow that appears is too shy, it should have loomed over everything perhaps.
I applaud though your effort and work. 5 |

darkness at noonby herfotomanComment: It's an interesting image but not powerful enough for Koestler's take on communism. It's not frightening enough. it quivers but it does not scream in pain.
