Happy Gecko by namComment: Am wondering what joke you shared with this creature. Formidable laughter and marvelously clad. |

The Owl by MAKComment: Truly spectacular (was my favorite in the challenge) - you managed to capture an expression on this mysterious creature. The branches in the background weaving and mimicking the owl's thoughts.... |

On the Edge of a Precipiceby instepsComment: Immensely powerful Henry.
The type of essay that leaves a scar in one's heart.
I am missing the image above in the essay. This one is the true vanished splendor.
The essay left me wanting to know a lot more about Taiwan. The elusive black and white of these images, as if sketched by an observant and dedicated traveller for further elaboration, makes me want to see them in color also.

stonescapes-1by rooumComment: A visual poem.
Well, my mind went immediately to C.S.Lewis.
The landscapes are seen sometimes seen through teary eyes but they can be also found photographs of a distant era, battered by rain and wind and holding secrets. Everything is by now cast in stone.
#9 is almost a Turner.
Very elegant.

Olching 1by primabarbaraComment: A very good reporting here on an event new to most of us (I'd like to taste that beer!).
Very good sequence of the event.
I might have liked a big crop of the top of the first image to emphasize the crowd.
As images in themselves, I do have favorites that could make another collection: #3, 5, 6 and 8.
I love travel essays in words or images.

The Killing Fields by KroburgComment: A bit of restraint would add so much to the feel: i find the skull unnecessary or at least not place it as in a still lfe
