Buried for Almost 300 Million Yearsby Darter02Comment: Wow, how cool! Is this for real? If so, you are so lucky to be taht close to it! If not, it sure looks real! This is a great take on the challenge, something that's been concealed for so long now exposed back to the harsh light and reality of our world. Speaking of light, I'm guessing it was a cloudy day when this was taken, it seems rather muted. The sharpness is there without being too much and the colors are a bit dull but considering what you are working with it's expected. Starting this with an 8 |

The inside of a Geodeby ladpupmoeComment: Geode! Seen enough of these for sure in my lifetime! The idea is great. The shot itself though, while the cropping is great the lighting on the right is too bright and the shadow that falls across the center is distracting. Knowing how beautiful these can be inside with the right lighting I would have played with it from that side and had more of the focus on the center. Starting this one at a 5 |

Guts! Guts! Guts!by JenHallComment: Ooooooooo poor puppy!! I almost did something very similar to this because my daughter had brought her bear pillow to me to be fixed!
I like the idea, the shot itself though leaves me a bit of center. The angle you are coming at is slightly disorienting to me, if the dog had been shot from above while he was on his back or even on the side. This just looks like a very unnatural way to find him. Also the cropping is off to me, I would have liked to see the whole dog. This gets a 7 to start |

The Naked Kissby NukktaComment: Now how did that one get by the inspector at the Hersey plant? :) A wonderful idea on the challenge and the set up is great, almost as if they are on a line coming out. The lighting seems a bit dark and the shot slightly out of focus on the main subject, that sweet little kiss that is making me crave chocolate, thanks! ;)
I'm giving this one a 6 but I will be back. |

concealed personality... since 1909!by Pep VentosaComment: How cute! You almost have to wonder how many people see that little face on there! The take on this challenge was well met in this shot to me. But as for the shot, I think coming down on the level of hydrant is a drawback of sorts, if you were a little higher and had the face peeking out from above to show the concealment, don't know if that was really possible. I'm starting this one at a 7 but I will be back |

Them Bonesby Firstrich1Comment: This is a wonderful shot to me. The shadows, the subject, the lighting are perfect. The lines in the shot draw you across the shot from each side and top to bottom. Yet another 10 on this one. Well done. |

Peek a Boo!by myqylComment: Boo to you too! A wonderful take on the challenge and the shot was probably a lot of fun to do! The only thing that would have made this better is if the little one had a look of "GOTCHA" on her face. The motion of the hair and blanket really add to the shot while you managed to keep her face in good focus. There seems to be a bit of noise on her face but the lighting is well done also. This one starts at a 7 for me. |

Expose the yummy filling/ The blossom from a budby trainComment: Hum, now I am hungry again! Darn it! This is a lovely shot over all, the way the carmel is coming out of the chocolate is wonderful and the clarity of the shot is amazing. I would have gone with just the one flower opened with the bud behind it and left the two on the left out of the shot, they tend to be a bit distracting to me. This one gets a 9 |

Roots...exposedby neenee1999Comment: The idea is good but the shot is over sharpened, too bright and the stones in the bottom distract from the roots. I like the background, the way it reverses through the water in the vase and the lighting is good along with the cropping. This one gets a 5 to start |

Kiwi Raysby Faye PekasComment: My daughter's favorite fruit! She's drooling over my shoulder! :)
Lovely idea, great composition, cropping is well done but the shot seems just a bit bright, maybe a different background or softer lighting? I'm starting this one at an 8 |
