The Good, The Bad and The Uglyby GrziComment: Which is which? A nice idea and you get points for orginality The shot itself isn't bad but the light seems a bit harsh on the left and the lack of overall focus on anyone item is a bit distracting. DOF doesn't work for this because the real cat is in the same area as the ceramic ones. Maybe if the ceramic cats had more balance of light on them, one is in half shadow and the other is almost fully lit. A 4 |

Just For Youby TerryGeeComment: I have to be honest, I hate the wooden man, I can't explain why, I just do. I know he's a great tool for learning and makes some really nice shots but he's just so impersonal. Anyway, about this shot, the idea is nice, the focus on the flower is very good, I just noticed the water droplets. The cropping is well done and the DOF is also very well done and the lighting is close to perfect. I started this at 4 because it was wooden man honestly, which I explained in the beginning but coming back and looking again it's worth an 8 |

silent blueby kaushComment: This looks like a beautiful building but the lighting really hurts this shot to me. Also the lack of focus and the noise in the shot is a distracting. A 4 |

Szechuan Chickenby Glen KingComment: A unique idea on the challenge, point for that. As for the shot, it looks kinda gross, don't ask me why because I love this stuff but I guess I never really looked at it upclose. The colors seem dull and the contrast is wanting to me. I like the cropping overall, you have a bit of everything in there but overall it doesn't make me hungry and it doesn't really appeal to me. A 4 |

Winning Lifeby Melly8522Comment: Seeing as I was there when you got most of these throphies I can't say this is a new subject to me :) Okay, since this is your thing here are my suggestions, bring the items closer together, you don't have to see the front of each trophy to make it count, maybe go from tallest in the back to smallest in the front and then have a plaque on each side and then the medallions leaning on the front trophy. When this is over we can set this up again and I'll show you what I"m talking about and then we'll bring it in for others to look at. Sorry hun, a 4 from Mom. |

Work Can Waitby EmerauldeComment: Yes, there are days it can wait. In your thumbnail it looks like milk is being spilt on the phone, it's really rather cool looking. Then I get here and it's just the hand set! I like the light effect on the shot and the DOF isn't bad but I'm not really seeing any one thing in focus, really sharp focus. I think if the cord wasn't in the front I would find this more appealing. A 4 is where I started but I'm going to a 6 |

A Reflection of Digital Evolutionby jspencer1962Comment: That is quite a collection of cameras there. Worked your way right up the ladder on them. The idea is good setting them in front a mirror and I'm curious to see which camera actually took the shot because if it was the large canon I would have to say I'm a bit disappointed. The noise and lack of focus in this shot ir really distracting to me, the light is well done and the way the camera grows is also very interesting. I started this at a 4 but am going to a 6 |

Fading consequenceby qwerty_314Comment: I haven't played chess in years so I couldn't even understand the moves here. The shot is a good idea for this challenge but the finished product is a bit wanting. On a shot like this I would expect to see clarity, sharpness and more defined light, brightness, contrast. The angle is nice and DOF isn't bad but the front peices are a bit too fuzzy for my taste. A 4 |

It's Still Life Jim, but not as we know it.by drgsoellComment: Cute toys, love the alien in the bikini! :) Good idea, points for orginality. The background is distracting though, you have so many things going on in the shot already with all the different figures the stars are competing for my attention. And there are a LOT of toys in there, it's hard to focus on any one object, perhaps if you had gone with just the classic aliens, the smaller ones and used two of the bigger ones as parents? I had started at a 4 on this one but am going to a 5 |

WaitingForTheCallby ronakComment: Your title tells me you're waiting for the call but I had to go looking for the phone, it's almost lost down on the bottom. I would have liked to seen just a bit more of it. The focus is on the table which, while it has a nice pattern is really rather boring. If the focus had been on the coffee, phone and snack with the table in the background this would have score much higher. A 4 |
