Canary Wharfby dainmcgowanComment: Very nice shot. Love the angle and composition. The light feel of this BW gives it a nice steel feel to it. Great job! |

child's danger... parent's fearby LMA128Comment: I gotta say, this is great shot. Pix that are unlike any other shot in the challenge for some reason, bizarre to me, always tend to do quite poorly. I only hope that you don't put too much credence in the many votes and comments of folks that harp on, IMHO, idiotic things as hotspots, "don't see how it fits..." blah blah blah, and the like. I am never one to say it but it just seems so narrow-minded to me.
This is an imaginative shot and fits the challenge figuratively but in a nice creative way. Too bad for those who just can't see the beauty in this shot.
Well done! |

Simply Phoebeby TranquilComment: Very nice. The face seems a bit bright. Not sure how, but would like to see your model's face with a bit more shadow for definition.
Of course you know that your shot is spot on technically. Good stuff! |

6 - Blue Heron at Sunsetby ErikVComment: I really love this shot. The dark negative space contrasted with the lighter corner with the heron (?) is a really nice touch and adds to the brilliance of the capture.
Well done! |

Basic B&Wby ATAPEComment: I like the idea behind this shot. The execution seems, IMHO, a bit harried. Not sure if it's because your monitor is not calibrated right but the black has a few tones in it and is not a solid black. THere is a blue tinge as well, not sure if it's intentional, and tho I like it a lot, it does not go well with the bw concept we are charged to capture in this side challenge.
The comment is interesting in your details and I am left rather curious to hear how this was achieved. |

What filter did you apply to darken the sky that much at the top? |
Thanks! I used a bit of burning with a nice soft brush to get it to be that dark on top. |

Day 3 - Sphinxby BudyaComment: Great use of negative space. Could use a bit of shadows/highlights (if you're using PS) to bring out the cat a bit more. Other than that, awesme pic! |

Day 1: Cricketby jasonlpriceComment: This is such a cute capture. I love the look in the kitty's eyes, the tilt of the head, the composure of the shot. Very sweet! The DOF is awesome, really brings out the eyes. The brick wall to the left is a tad distracting but ever so little.
Awesome job! |
