The Gatheringby jmsetzlerComment: ditto as the other post challenge comments.
This is obviously a great shot, no doubt about that. No doubt also, by your admission, that it does not meet the challenge. I have to admit I was astounded to see it was yours. Never thought I'd see a shot by you anywhere other than the top.
I like your explanation of the shot. Very methodical & intentional which I think speaks volumes to your fotographic talent & ablities.
Will you hit us back as to why you chose to enter in a challenge that it didnt fit in or are we being a tad nosey? |

Stillby Firstrich1Comment: very nice rustic & moody shot. Good dof & composition. The crop seems a bit tight to the bottom but very good nonetheless. |

Spousal Abuse, A Shameful Silenceby dustin03Comment: this is an interesting twist in that this is a dude instead of a woman. The expression is really authentic. The duck tape is a bit too much tho, IMO, since the title is very apt & adds to the shot. |

50 years ago... defiance bred a Leader by RoosterComment: Thanks so much everyone! I had lots of fun dreaming this shot up & actually taking it. My model, Devin, was so great! He did exactly what I asked for without complaining or anything. Much love & thanks to him!
Originally I wanted the sign to be more authentic & I had a painted sign all ready but I couldn't hang it off the wall. Hence the quickie printer job that hurt the shot a bit.
I'm still really taken aback by all the comments & that I actually won a ribbon! Who would of thought!
I think I have been having more fun with my shots lately & am finding creative ways of expressing myself more. Very happy that not only do I think I'm getting better but that it is being affirmed here on this site that I love so much!
This shot was taken in the Crotona part of the Bronx in The Mary Mitchell Family & Youth Center on Mapes Avenue. Message edited by author 2004-03-03 11:54:30. |

illuminous utensilby RoosterComment: Thanks everyone for your insightful & kind commnets. I kinda got luck y wiht this shot & ended up with something that was nice & fit the challenge well. This was ahard challenge for bc I couldn';t think of somthing good to do. I had done a fork & knife shot before & it did just alright so I was a bit apprehensive of doing yet another fork shot. All in all I think I did pretty well & am very please with the shot.
Thanks again everyone! |

...Of My Soulby SkamalComment: nice composition. The only thing I would change is pan out a bit more so the right side was not so close to the crop. |
