This is great in B&W. I note that there appears to be a catchlight in his eye here but not the first, and I like that. (Edited: Removed comment about crop. Actually, I think this crop is fine, and best).

I think this one works best in color. This is great, and probably can even stand a tiny bit of saturation boost, at least on my LCD.

I keep coming back to this wonderful shot--I wish you had used it in the Impressionism challenge!

I just bought a set of clear cokin filters to try this without having to hold something in front of my lens. But in my previous experiments, I've never gotten the wonderful smudging of colors you got here. Any tips? How thick was your layer of Vapo Rub? Is that different than Vasoline in its light properties? Did you smear it unevenly?
