T I M E and Spaceby LydiaComment: Glad to see this one on the front page. Honestly thought it would probably take the blue. It strikes a very compelling--and unsettling--balance between surreal evocation and whimsical absurdity. Very distinctive artistic statement--yet one that's elusively articulated. A chef's kiss there.
On a side note, I'm really interested to find out how you accomplished the levitation effect so convincingly. |

fin de saisonby tnunComment: Surprised this one didn't place higher. It was among my favorites this challenge. The b/w inversion was an imaginative choice that makes this presumably mundane (and probably less-than-picturesque) scene something haunting and, well, mysterious. A real artist's touch in my book. :-) |

Orange Harmonyby namComment: Will return to vote later. But just have to say that this is an astounding level of color balance and focal detail to be basically straight out of camera like this. I salute your skills! |

The travelersby hajekaComment: The lighting is what really elevates this. Took me a while to even register the use of broccoli for the tree. Clever! |

Chorus line by wildirisComment: I'm not surprised this took the blue. It's really hard to get such legible depth in a perfectly shadowy silhouette like this. Kudos! |

Pembroke College, Oxfordby PaulComment: Lovely balance. The placement of the bench really adds depth to the architecture, and the processing is superb. |
