Maybe I read too many crime/murder/drama books, but this reminds me of a scene where the relatives have been called into the "viewing" room at a morgue. They are standing in front of the glass, with the stark overhead lighting, just waiting for that curtain to pull back to view their murdered son/daughter/husband/wife. Good work!
