Thanks for the comments. Never realised animals were repetitive like that. Will keep it in mind in future!

As far as I know, I think it's meant to be "Snaffles and me" in the situation of your second sentence. Remove "Snaffles" from the sentence and you'd use "me" and (so I've been told multiple times by people who apparently understand grammar) you use "me" rather than "I" in that context. Weird, eh?
