I've never had the pleasure or fortune to witness the lights, but I have seen many images of them. This image works well for the most part. I feel it's a little washed out and could use a little contrast in the color regions. I would think getting the shutter speed and ISO to balance is a challenge in these conditions. I have no idea now long the shutter would even need to stay open for this event. Overall, a good image to be proud of. I like the space you left around the snowy spots on the ice.

The leading lines cannot be ignored or forgotten as your mind attempts to reconcile what might happen when the next few steps are taken. The whimsical notion of protection from an umbrella is preposterous in the face of the cold unknown. My highest scoring image this month.
