Balloonsby HeiSchComment: Bright, colourful, sharp. 7. I'd possibly have cropped the daylight to the right of the yellow balloons red patch out. |

Flute (disambiguation)by herfotomanComment: Enjoyed it enough with a 6 Herman. For someone that's still getting to grips with your style, that's a good thing :) |

Sunflowerby AmmieComment: Hi Amanda, ditto JulietNN the black line through it killed it for me. Is your monitor brightness too low so you didn't notice it during PP? (It got a 6, possibly 8 without the line)
ETA: Try this online monitor calibration tool, not perfect but the price is right :) Message edited by author 2013-08-07 01:49:00. |

Eye of the Serpentby daevansComment: I realise it's your choice not to tick my "during voting" comment as helpful but your 0.8 second shutter speed vindicates what my eyes saw. For a stationary object this should be crisp with oodles of DOF. It just isn't as crisp as I'd have expected from a still. Often that's due to not using mirror lockup even if you have the DSLR on a tripod, the G forces of the mirror slamming make the camera wobble during exposure. That is a massively good Macro lens. Give it another shot :) |

She was something in her day !by jbrightComment: Perhaps the composition (too far to the left of picture, too much empty space on right of frame) failed this. Personally I loved it but the 8 I gave it would have been a 9. |

Beautiful Curveby jbirkmanComment: WD on TT. Hard work sometimes pays off! 6.1215 is a bit of a slap in the face for such a technical and beautiful shot. |

a touch of satinby tangueraComment: Gotcha!
ETA: That D700 is a workhorse. Time for me to hunt down a loved, well cared for low shutter count one if I can prise it out of any dead photographers hands :P Message edited by author 2013-08-07 01:13:00. |

bumblebeeby skewsmeComment: Grossly underestimated IMO - So much detail and such an unusual and unique PHOTOGRAPH, right down to the pollen encrusted border. But that doesn't cut the mustard on DPC; Whilst the ribboners are all good images in their own right; dogs, cats and horses are the safe and boring bet here.
Keep surprising and I'll keep voting high. |
