Only breed I could think of was Yorkie :) Sorry if I offended Hoover hehe :) The dhacshund was also bread to head into holes after prey. Sure it's not always easy to get 3" off the ground unless you have a DSLR with a tilt screen and the D7000 is not a prosumer model with that "feature"!

Nice duo colours here and typical dog interaction on a simple grey BG. Wait until they sniff each others...oh wait don't go there lol.

Very interesting room filled with years of memories. Good WB despite mixed light. Quite a bit of colour high ISO noise though. No tripod?

Brilliant. You did well to get him again with the 105mm Macro. In context of your title the picture is fine. Tells a story which might go away or make no sense if you overcrop it. Use the Single point AF option I alluded to in a previous PAW post and place that on the black eye surrounded by white face. The D90 will AF accurately.
WTH is lying there? Grapes or Olives? :) Cheese and wine afternoon? hehe. Shoot RAW naturally, and correct the WB in Nikon View NX2, then convert to TIFF 8 bit.

Excellent image and great result with such a short focal length on a 350D to boot! A bit of pixelation and edge artefacts due from cropping but kudos for not giving up.

Very similar to a hummer in size and flight. All photographed in the wild although this one was building her nest close to a residence.

Yep, wild bird photography is an art.
1. You got him, even if it's for later ID. Very important for record keeping and range data as more and more birds are under threat of dissapearing environment, encroachment, pollution.
2. You got enough detail where such a bright sky usually fools the meter into under exposing to get a blue sky.
3. For me the catch-light isn't imperative but has become to be in the past few years. It is certainly pretty and does make the image appear more "professional" however I can generally tell it's fake, or at least from the angle of the light and shadows. It is also very difficult to PS it in. If the sun isn't falling on the birds chest or from behind the photographer it is invariably fake and I vote that image down. As a wild bird tog I am a purist :)
4. Kudo's for using a lens not intended for against the light, wildlife work and more suited to macro, portrait and getting the shot.
5. I like the animals environment included in shots. Whilst I strive to get 'smooth studio-like backgrounds' in much of my wildlife work, I still enjoy seeing it in the wild with branches, grass etc.

Even with a s/s of 1/223 on a lens with FL of 26mm you still got blur. HTH do you do it? :)
