untitledby kevrobertsonComment: Not bad, maybe a bit overexposed (the building in the background), but it helps the opposite. For me, this shot cries for a symmetrical composition. Compose the "window" of the old one to the new to the center, if you feel the shot this way boring, rotate it it a bit, but leave it centered. Simple subjects need simple, but not ad-hoc compositions to work well.
I see you din't give a title. "Window to the new" or something like that came to my mind when I saw your shot. Feel your photo! If you couldn't find a title, you didn't feel it enough. |

combinationby hossamComment: I would crop from the left (just to keep the sailing boat) and I would show more of the old side. The bridge could be a key element on this photo, to get a semi-diagonal composition, it would divide the photo to the two parts. Old and new are opposites, so halved photo compositions work well with it, if you find a natural or artifical line that halves your photo, use it bravely to help the story you want to tell me! :-) |

Old & Newby slindenmanComment: I think like this one, though I feel like background is a bit busy. I like the composition, DOF and the subject anyway. With a one coloured background this would be a nice submission, though, I appreciate the individuality of your photo. |

VHS to DVDby katihComment: WoW! :-) B&W VHS and colourful DVD! Nice implementation of the challenge! :-) The only one thing that distracts me a bit is the light satuff in the top right corner. I covered the top of the photo to get rid of it and I found the result better, try it. :-) |

Dad...are grenades ok to play with?by alixmilesComment: I would have cropped on the bottom, and brought the new element to the front, too. This way it's not accented enough for me. Seeing the background I am also not sure about WB here, I feel too much yellows in the shot. |

Timelineby sprocket505Comment: Creative! :-) I love this one playing with lights. Composition is great, shame for the shadow on the top left corner, I also would have left less space between the CF cards. But alltogether a nice shot. |

Ageless Reflectionby breckinshireComment: Good catch of the subject! Shame for the shadow that takes too much off from your photo... You should have waited for the time when the whole church(?) would have been recflected beautiful. Always pay attention to not having big deatilless areas on your photo. |

focus on the old & new, not the unfocused present...by mmaltoComment: Not a 300*200 pixel photo again... :-( Are you people putting up so small photos driving me mad on purpose?!
Nice idea and colours but it's too small, the flower is unsharp, and old is not accented enough on your shot. Focusing on the not-yet-bloomed and dry flowers and shooting a macro would have been a better idea in my opinion, the unfocused blooming flower has a distracting effect on the story you wanted to tell me. Good idea, maybe presentation and quality will be better next time. |

Generationsby ComputergiComment: B&W was a great choice here! Wonderful photo with full of emotions, I love the composition, and the contrast between old and young. :-) In Hungarian, new is rather for objects, not humans, but this may be just a language difference, so 10 from me and good luck!!! |

Vinyl Reflectionsby tommyd65Comment: Great composition, blue tones and I love the reflection. Both old and new are accented on your photo which is wonderful sharp. Personally I would have chosen black background, but this is just my taste, don't care about it. :-) |
