Good take on the challenge. I think I would prefer a square crop with these type of images. However you got a lot of colors and they are very precisely arranged.

I think this is a good capture. Two things to check out in this photo. I think you were bold in getting this candid without attracting attention however I would have to say to get closer for better effect. Also the rule of thirds would be a good compositional technique here putting the man in the left hand third and allowing the line of the path to take you trough the photo. All in all it is good but could be improved.

The sad emotion of this is contradictory to the colorful nature of the picture which aids in telling the story of the incomplete metamorphosis. It gives a feeling of regret for past actions or of the person missing something.
