	the stowaway by grigrigirl Comment: This is a pretty much perfect shot. The green tinge brings to mind life aboard ship, and the girl's gorgeous green eyes, expression, and costume are all dead on. Excellent job!

	Desertion by 'Pong Comment: I'd remove the black border. having such an abrupt end to the white brick walls fights the feeling of a long, desolate hallway.

	Hopeless Abandon by inspzil Comment: This is better than the other dead rodent picture. seeing the dead baby ones too definitely adds to the desolation. I like the background; it looks like this empty field of gravel goes on forever.

	Forest After Fire by silverleaf Comment: The blue color and the shafts of sunlight show hope to me, not desolation. I get more a feeling of renewal here than destruction. It's an attractive shot, though.

	Alone in lavaland by runar Comment: I like this, but I think she's too close to the corner. the real desolation is in her face and in the dry brush on the left. lowering the frame a little would help.

	Cinderella sweeping up on Desolation Row by Coley Comment: The pinwheel in the back pocket is a wonderful touch. I hope this is someone you spotted on the street, but I'm sure it's posed. Either way, it's lovely.
