I like how this communicated desolation. I especially like the pinwheel in his back pocket.

Nice look and feel. Shades and angles are great...nice uphill effect. Interesting facade feel wth the old items covered by new (is that a price tag? ;0 ) . Nice play-on-Dylan. This should make your mama proud.

Excellent shot. Wonderful clarity. I love that little toy in his back pocket. I wonder about the story behind that. The way the man is leaning his head on the broom, really shows emotion - sadness, hopelessness, desolation.

What a lovely portrait. In terms of composition I'd crop just a touch more at the left so he's sweeping into the frame. I like the black and white and his pose too as well as the textures of the wall.

the hat and the pinwheel in the pocket are wonderful additions...perhaps a little humorous for desolation - great textures

Rarely do I see a photo that makes me feel things....this one does! How brilliant this is...capturing the very essence of desolation! Wonderful job!! :)

I suspect you'll have a tough time with this title. I wouldn't have recognized the reference if I hadn't done a google on desolation this afternoon and turned up several hits on the song. And, to be honest, even having read the lyrics, I'm not sure I get the link with this shot, but I don't really know the song that well, so maybe it's just me. The picture is OK, but I don't get a strong sense of desolation from it. Composition is decent, focus is good, B&W is OK but predictable.

The pinwheel in the back pocket is a wonderful touch. I hope this is someone you spotted on the street, but I'm sure it's posed. Either way, it's lovely.
