S E M A P H O Rby Bear_MusicComment: I love this one and thought it would do much better. Great processing. It is interesting how the yellow stripes "feel" as if they are higher than the white ones, leading to the 3D effect tnun mentioned. |

"... we find beauty not in the thing itself but in the pattern of shadows..." Tanizakiby PenelopeKComment: Originally posted by tanguera: Congrats on the HM, Penny! I love that you and Bear often end near each other when you shoot at the same location for a challenge :) |
Thanks, Johanna. In fact we usually end up right next to each other after a day shooting at the same location, just as we do after days neither of us has been out shooting at all!! (I just couldn't resist!!!) |

Acrossby banmornComment: Lovely detail in the stonework and a complementary backdrop. I like the mix of horizontal and vertical elements. I would have considered a horizontal flip to create more of a left to right than right to left movement, but that is a relatively minor issue and is often easier for someone who has never visited a place to contemplate! |

Standing Guardby KMcCComment: Welcome to DPC. Congratulations on the great finish in a FS.
I love the negative space and the stillness you have captures with this image. I agree with spiritualspatula that a bit of cloning on the branch near the bird's head would have added a bit to the composition. Looking forward to more of your submissions.

le rouge et le noir_8169by mariucaComment: Wonderful in their random positioning. Interesting to observe the difference in the amount of reflected light, and how that impacts my response to each side. Nice bright eyes, must be fresh!
I loved going to shop at the fish market in Newcastle NSW when visiting my sister and always took my camera in with me... |
