The Great Western Railroad by MAKComment: Congratulations on getting a ribbon for this lovely shot. Just the colors/colours of the engine and carriages take me back to the train rides of my youth growing up in the West of England. If you had been able to include primroses in flower along the rail embankment, now that would have made the memory complete! Message edited by author 2009-04-27 21:11:40. |

thawby kolasiComment: I found this confusing as the title implies that the subject is the ground, but the bright and sharply focused buildings are what capture my attention. |

Nature's Stigmaby zohar-halfonComment: Nice contrast of ruffled stigma against smooth petals, but I think the image would be improved if the stigma were in focus |

Whoooooooshby jegerComment: Lovely composition ~ use of perspective, the single strong color, and the two lights well placed in terms of the rule of thirds. Great image. |

Speak No Evilby kingskingdomComment: This gets a high score for its powerful impact, even though I recoil each time I view it. |

covert (covered?) dialogby LevTComment: Interesting idea, although I find the person in the seats above the two players and his white shirt and sock rather distracting. Cropping much closer to the players in general might have been effective. |

"A Little Swifter"by jimnessComment: Yup, music is one of the great universal languages, that's for sure. Nice composition. I particularly like the reflections of the musical score on the instrument, and the off white you achieved for the paper, or perhaps it was that color anyway. An aside (and this did not influence my scoring in any way..) I suspect the score used in this image was not one for this woodwind instrument... it looks more like something written for the piano! |

M40 J14by GemGemComment: One of the more interesting images of this genre ... the illumination of the posts supporting the railing on the upper roadway and the partially illuminated road surface next to them are nice details. I also like the way the pillars supporting the upper roadway, as well as the upper roadway itself, break up the lights on the lower roadway. Nice image. |
