Möweby chanserComment: Unfortunately the light in this image is quite flat. On my monitor there are no details in the dark areas, and both the mid-tones and lightest areas are rather dull looking. Not what I would expect to see in an Ansel Adams' photo IMO. There is something very majestic about the way this gull is standing though. |

Approaching Stormby Tommy_MacComment: I like the transitions and lines where the type of vegetation changes. Compared to what I think of as Ansel Adams style this has rather limited tones, with large areas in the mid-tonal range, and very little detail in the shadows. The sky adds a bit of interest, though. |

Lumber Mill, Whitehorse Mountainby Brent_SComment: Nice tones but marred somewhat by over-sharpening, flat light on the mountain range and a little too much detail for a typical Adams type image in my opinion. I like the shape of the mountain range and its peak and this is nice subject for a black and white image. |
