is this a close-up of a seashell? i think it must be. i like the idea of the rough outside and the smooth inside all in one photo. it looks like you have way oversharpened or post-processed this (deliberately, i'm sure) to give it a more abstract feel. unfortunately, for me, that doesn't work, think i would've preferred just the sharpened image (difficult to say of course w/out seeing that). -- gr8photos (3)

to me, this is not the most interesting subject matter. but, it does show texture, so that's good. have you tried not having the rock in the middle, but maybe following the ROT? that way, the viewer's eyes are allowed to wonder around your shot a little more. the shot also seems a little pixelated, not sure if that's just your camera though, because you have a decent file size. -- gr8photos (3)

i was toying with taking a fruit/vegetable kind of shot but ran out of time. good combination, too. colors, as well as texture. i know smooth is also a texture, but to me, the rough textures are much more interesting. therefore i would probably have placed the artichoke more in the foreground, and made the tops of the peppers and eggplant/aubergine more prominent, too. last but not least, check if you can save your photo with a larger files size (150k is allowed on this site) to avoid some of the pixelation that's visible. -- gr8photos (4)

that rabbit's fur has a lot of texture, but imo there's a focal point missing to your photo. just something that interrupts the consistency of the fur. maybe an eye or something like that. also, there seem to be two long hairs hanging down from the top of the photo that are slightly distracting. -- gr8photos (4)

this is a good idea, and while i'm torn whether i like the out of focus fingers or not, i'm starting to like them. what i find distracting in this shot is the background. specifically the white area above the thumb and the black area between the ring and small finger. if you could have taken this in front of a plain background (even just holding some cardboard behind the hand) you would've gotten a few more points from me. creative idea though. -- gr8photos (5)

this is quite an interesting take on texture, and cool tatoo. overall, while i like the composition, the shot is too dark, and has not enough contrast in my opinion. i tried playing with the two in an editing program, but when i increased brightness and/or contrast, the bedding in the background would become blown out, so maybe a tighter crop or other bedding and then a little brighter may be a possibility. a tighter crop could also remove whatever that black band is on the left. -- gr8photos (4)
