| 09/10/2002 07:50:00 AM | A Cup of Berriesby TerryGeeComment: wow, i love this. and not just because i REALLY like strawberries. you captured theirr color very well, there's only a little reflection which adds a spark to the photo and i love how the cup paritally melts into the background. my top 5 this week. -- gr8photos (10). |
| 09/12/2002 02:39:00 PM | Zoink!by KarenBComment: totally cool idea. i usually don't go for 'cut off' faces, but it works really well here to show just the eyes (and him looking up is a great touch). while the background isn't really distracting, i think this would have looked good in front of a plain black one, too. and maybe just get all of the arrow in to the right. but these things are nitpicky ... i really like the idea and execution ... you are in my top 5 this week. -- gr8photos (10) | Photographer found comment helpful. |
| 09/13/2002 05:52:00 PM | Renaissanceby stephanComment: hm. i'm not sure what to make of your photo. so let me start with the things i like. the lighting is very nice, i like all the warm tones, and the black background is great, too. the candle is the brightest object in the photo, and therefore to me the main object, not the fruit. and i don't think i'm quite getting the reason for why you put the objects into the photo that you did, but that is probably just me. so, technically a good photo, you would've scored higher though if the fruit was more of the central object in my opinion. -- gr8photos (5) | Photographer found comment helpful. |
| 09/09/2002 03:08:00 PM | Mr Potato Deadby MartinComment: ouch. lol. nice play on words in the title, nice white background. 'blood' doesn't look very convincing, it is too light, and i wonder why you used such a small knife. what is that anyway? almost looks like a cardboard cutout? i'm sure that was deliberate, but i think i would've preferred a real knife. -- gr8photos (5) |
| 09/09/2002 02:12:00 PM | Say Aaaah!by DigiPiqueComment: ok, i'm looking fwd to the end of the week to figure out what i'm looking at here. i'm assuming you were going for the abstract look, and then you've definitely achieved your goal. i think i personally would be happier if i knew what i was looking at. i'll keep coming back ... maybe it'll come to me. -- gr8photos. |

| 09/09/2002 02:14:00 PM | Graspby brianedenComment: nice concept, but i would like more focus on the bananas in the foreground because that's where my eye is drawn to. the focus is instead further back. -- gr8photos. |
| 09/09/2002 03:11:00 PM | To All the Lost Soulsby coeurdusucreComment: i'm not sure i'm getting your title. as for the photo, yes, there's plenty of fruit in it, but overall, it is very cluttered with different items, colors, textures. there are too many things vying for my attention, and i'm not sure the fruit is winning the contest. -- gr8photos. |
| 09/09/2002 12:40:00 PM | Appleby mrbillComment: sorry, this image is way too dark on my monitor (and most of the others look ok, so i'm tempted to conclude your photo is actually very dark). all i can make out is the sticker, a little bit of the right side of the apple and the highlight from the lightsource. the rest is black. even if it was a little lighter, i wonder if a landscape format would've been nicer, or moving the apple down so that there's not so much empty space in the foreground. -- gr8photos. |
| 09/10/2002 04:38:00 PM | last to ripenby artgalaxyComment: looks more as if it is past ripe. i like the idea of a fruit that's not usually bought in supermarkets. well chosen. i am wondering though if this photo had a little more impact if you'd either zoomed in or cropped closer to the berries (for the life of me i can't think of their name in english right now). maybe a portrait format? this way, they get lost just a tad in the overall photo. -- gr8photos. |
