| 05/28/2002 07:53:00 AM | Dragon Boat Raceby BAMartinComment: Did we meet there? I was also at the race taking pictures for the challenge, but then decided I didn't like any of them well enough to enter. You seem to have got a little closer than me - good. For this challenge, I would've liked it better if my eyes were drawn more to the drummers, instead they keep on wandering to the dragon. I do like having the other boat in the background. |
| 05/28/2002 07:54:00 AM | The Pouterby jmsetzlerComment: I like the way you framed this shot, and the b&w. Catching the light in the eye is great, too. I would've preferred the photo to be a little lighter and sharper though. |
| 05/29/2002 01:22:00 PM | Sunday Marketsby lisaeComment: I like that you got down to the little girl's level to take this photo. I would prefer to be looking at her (instead of her walking away from me). The photo also seems very pixelated, and based on your file size I don't think it's JPEG compression. Did you use a high ISO setting? |
| 05/28/2002 08:43:00 AM | Eye Variationsby hokieComment: I'm very curious how you did that - it's way cool. Start writing your contribution to the "How'd they do that???" section. Would there have been a way to improve the focus a little? Everything seems just a little blurred. |
| 05/28/2002 03:34:00 PM | Homage to Hitchcockby PatellaComment: Hehehe, not quite what I expected for this challenge (cute babies, and smiling old folks)! I almost missed the person behind the shower curtain, would there have been a way to increase the contrast? Also, the whole picture is somewhat grainy and more shades of gray than b&w. Still, interesting take on things and nice composition. |
| 05/28/2002 08:57:00 AM | Early Morning Shepardby autoolComment: Great composition, follows the ROT, that's always good. It would be a stronger picture IMO if the horizon was level and you had taken this from a lower angle and slightly further left, that way his face would've not been in the deep shadow. |
| 05/28/2002 08:34:00 AM | Next Baywatch Starby liltoolComment: This is a very nice shot. Clear, he's looking right at the camera, the background color works well as a contrast to his life-vest. Good job! |
| 05/28/2002 08:40:00 AM | Traditional Costumeby fsieradzkiComment: I like this picture a lot. It's crisp, colorful, and she looks right at me and has a glint in her eyes. Very well done. If I was to say something nitpicky, it would be that the buttons are cropped off at the bottom of the frame, just a fraction more photo there would've had them included all the way. |
| 05/28/2002 07:50:00 AM | Hot Workby heritconComment: Wow - did you set your garage on fire so you had a cool shot for dpchallenge - that's dedication! ;o) Kidding aside, I hope no one got hurt! I like the shot a lot, it is very well framed and executed. However, even though there are people in it, my eyes are not drawn to them, which I would've hoped to see for this challenge. |
