The Thinkerby groggyfroggyComment: Great creatures, aren't they? I think your photo would rate higher if it wasn't underexposed (look at some of the higher-rating animal photos for comparison)) and therefore had more detail in the fur and face. Also doesn't look 100% sharp to me. |

The Maestro and his Zitherby viljoendaleComment: To be honest, this has a 'snapshot' feel to me. I know, everyone hates that word. The reason I'm saying that is the composition (taking the photo from eye-level height), the shadow from the flash, the maestro not looking at the camera, plus some of the background. Maybe getting lower down, so you get more of his face, or closeup of the hands on the zither (I know, that would be a different photo) would be more interesting here (to me, that is). |

growingpainsby yourdealerComment: Hard to see for me what the intent of this photo is ... from your title I suspect it's supposed to tell me a story ... but I'm not quite seeing it, sorry. |

What the...?by ajgardnerComment: Cool effect, but the blurriness and shadows, plus grain detract from the overall success of the image in my opinion. |

Upby NordlysComment: Unique concept, but too overexposed for my liking (the edge around the parasailer looks uneven because of it) and too much white space to keep the interest of the viewer for long. |

November Nightfallby grusComment: This image has potential, I like that sliver of bright orange in the otherwise blue image. However, it looks very overprocessed to me ... for example, the halo around the poles in the water. Worth reprocessing I think. |

Portrait of a Taurus by peeteComment: Simply stunning. Love the backlighting for the guy, more than "just" as smoke picture. One of my top picks! |

When is Daddy coming home?by mandyturnerComment: One of my top picks for the challenge. The lighting, the look, is simply fantastic. The filter works really well with the muted colors and the two really set the emotional tone of the image! |

Hands of workerby letuananhComment: I'm assuming you meant to enter this to industrial and are kicking yourself right now (and probably getting lots of comments about this being in the wrong challenge). Just wanted to tell you though how stunning an image you have created here. The detail, texture, contrast is just amazing. Well done! |

Witpoortjie Fallsby sulamkComment: Two things that really distract me when looking at this shot is the tilt (enough to be distracting, not enough to seem on purpose, or, if it was on purpose it eludes me) and the blown out bit of sky at the top. |
