interesting idea for this challenge. the water bubbles suggest that you are looking through a waterfilled object. i like the bubbles. was there a way to avoid the highlight (probably from your lighting source) and the not quite straight background cloth? they are a little distracting in my opinion. btw, are your eyes green? i love green eyes! :) -- gr8photos (4)

wow, i know acquarium shots are difficult. good for you for taking this on. i wish the fish was just a little sharper and didn't have the hot spot (from flash?) on it. -- gr8photos (4)

you've definitely met the challenge by including the view through the filter, however, i'm wondering why you took this photo at such an angle. it looks too crooked to be unintentional, but i don't see a reason for it being that way. i also don't like the blurred leaf in the foreground, it competes with the fountain for attention. would there have been a way of taking the shot slightly further from the right, or holding the leaf out of view for the shot? i do like the blurry background behind the fountain with the colorful dots from the flowers. was there a way of achieving greater depth of field or was that impossible because it's a macro shot. it's times like these i'd love to see the specs... anyway, the photo meets the challenge, but doesn't appeal much to me, it looks a little gross (i know, that's what lava lamps are ...). -- gr8photos (3)

what is this, some kind of a bowl or vase? i bet it looks cool from a more traditional angle. it also looks cool from this angle, but i think it could've benefitted from a little more light shining through and creating more contrast. also, if you center your object in the middle, make sure it's really centered (top to bottom, left to right looks fine). -- gr8photos (4)

cool, i'm about to get a pond in my garden, so i was interested to see the pond! your title points to the guppies, but if i look at the photo, the flowers are the much more dominant feature in the shot. i'm not sure what you could've done to make the guppies stand out from the background (considering you can't change the colors of the background or the fish), so i can't really give you any tips. maybe zooming in on them so they become more prominant in the shot? -- gr8photos (4)

good idea for the challenge. did you try some other angles at all, instead of centered and head-on? just wondering whether that would have made it a little more interesting. -- gr8photos (5)

i tried very hard to figure this shot out. you seem to have taken it through a blue glass container (glass, vase, bowl kind of thing). i think i see a hand at the bottom right, but i'm not sure. are the two hot spots from a flash? or are they something else that is supposed to be there. if it's the flash, was there a way to turn it off and still have enough lighting? all in all, unfortunately, i feel this is too abstract for me - i would like to recognize a little more than i can at this point. i like your placement of the two wheels, the oof second one gives a definite feeling of depth to the photo. was the gorilla shot that dark, or is the photo a little dark? can't tell. -- gr8photos (5)

uh, i wanted to do something with food coloring, but i broke my glass bowl in the process. wouldn't have been as nice as this, anyway. did you try a totally plain background, maybe a sheet of white cardboard? in my top 10 this week - gr8photos (9)
