Another one that challenges my idea of calm. Captivity does not seem in the slightest calming, so it immediately seemed to not fit the challenge. But I also think you must get incredibly bored in captivity -- and the one on the right certainly seems bored. The one on camera left seems sad. :(

I do like this one. I'm such an anti-smoking person that it gives me the willies. (though I think that smoking pictures can be interesting. I wish there were some tendrils of smoke coming out the mouth or the nose!)

Anyway -- my first thoughts were just negative because of the my reactions to smoking. But then I thought about people saying that it relaxed them. Not something that I could relate to.

And then I thought how interesting it was to have the juxtaposition of it making me uncomfortable and relaxing her.

The crop is uncomfortable. The negative space on the right unnecessary. Yet again, it really gives such a push and pull on this image.

When I first started DPC, I would have given it a 5. Now it's an 8.5. Since I can't do the half, rounding up to 9 for a bold statement.
