Necessityby DCrest01Comment: Hehe -- I saw this on 1x, as well. The curves are beautifully done -- the edge of the paper and the pencil end are way oversharpened, imo. |

Water Spriteby grahamgatorComment: Wow... this shouldn't be down here. This should be on the front page. It's truly beautiful. It was a 9 from me. |

Banana Breadby grahamgatorComment: I love the processing on this. It really is simply stunning. One that really grows on you the more you look at it.
I could really see this one framed and hanging. |

Golden Reflectionsby ladpupmoeComment: There was so much possibility to this one, but it just ends up being overdone, imo. I love the idea of the color, and reflections are something of which I'm very fond. However, the extreme sharpening of this, I think just ends up emphasizing what this is and takes away the mystery it could have. Plus (sorry...!) it's actually a little painful that way (I'm voting with a headache, so it does seem like it's shouting a tad) With softer sharpening and softer colors, I think this could have been stunning. 5 as is. But I think it could have gone as high as an 8 if processed in a different way. |

Fan by MondComment: This is working for me. Even though you see what it is, it's not immediately obvious. It makes you look a bit deeper to understand it. Also, it ends up being more about the lines and shapes than the object itself. It has a nice flow to it and the shadows are intriguing. Also that it just tapers into the black on the right gives it a little mystery and movement. I'm not sure it would last long with me, though. So it's a 7 right now. Will have to check tomorrow to see reactions and to see if it should be an 8. |

Flowby MargaretNetComment: Ok -- this is my second "I think it's too recognizable to be abstract." Yet this one is a lot closer than the first. I'm guessing it's just that I've seen to many slow water pictures for it to have any mystery. The over sharp with the slow is kind of interesting. But part of me wonders if just a part of this would have been much more effective. I guess I want my abstracts to have a bit of mystery or intrigue to it. And taking just part, like the upper left quadrant, I think could be much more interesting and make people want to dig a bit deeper into it. Which is translating into a 6. |

bunningsby AbraComment: So close, but not quite. I really wish you could have been on a ladder and ended up with the circles lining up one after another. It's really quite cool. I had to look deeper to figure out what was going on, since it didn't seem real. Which was fun. But after you figure it out, there's just too much space in between to make it "feel" right. Yet I can imagine what I want it to be. Which probably isn't fair, since it's most likely what you want it to be. But in my mind it's just not enough. That translates to a 6. |

Hodgepodgeby LawtonComment: Is it abstract? Yes. Does it work for me? Yes. Not deeply, but well enough. I like the colors. I like the feeling of a riot. It's fun to explore for awhile. Though I'm not sure it would stand the test of time (hanging on the wall for a long period or wanting to view it over and over and over.) Which is translating to a 7. I'll have to come back to it tomorrow to see if it's really an 8. |

Flamboyanceby enikoComment: I'm still not sure of my own definition of abstract. I'm not one that thinks that abstracts have to be blurry or unrecognizable. Yet this one doesn't seem that abstract to me. Perhaps it's because even though I recognize it, it doesn't end up drawing me in more and playing to my imagination. Which translates to a 5, I guess. I'm wanting more. sorry... |
