Thanks for the comments, everyone. I was potentially going to use these shots for stock purposes, so having their faces in shadow was part of protecting their anonymity--also important if they're truly "moonlighting" or working a second job, where they may not want their identity and location revealed to the world.

Interesting perception about the structural resemblance to a gallows--you are absolutely correct. I may take some more shots without the guys there for just that look now.

I've just been researching this building for something else. This is a nice detail shot--all I've seen up until now are not-very-good long shots. I've been told the building is "the" Old Bailey; without the "the" people usually mean the street.
