Stately Columnsby TammerComment: Perspectives make the columns look like they're leaning ... a rotation of about 1.3 degrees CCW would help that -- to me, it's a more prominent compositional line than the horizon line. |

Vertigoby bpickardComment: I like the unusual angle/framing -- I might have tried to crop it to an exact square. |

Grande Finaléby GeneralEComment: Originally posted by RinkRat: A little more noise than I care for, and I think the hand on the wrong side of the shower bugs me a bit. Great concept. |
Thanks everyone -- lots of interesting/fun comments!
This one highlights my biggest problem with the set-up: how to shoot at this angle without the camera being right in the stream of water, so I decided the "finalé" would occur just as the person stepped out of the shower.
I agree having a little more arm showing would be good, but this was the best of the lot -- all shot handheld -- that I could get with the showerhead a little in-focus. Low light created the grain to start with, so I just accentuated it -- to me, the effect rather resembles a mezzotint |

High Noteby BigMoComment: That's quite some note-bending ... I use extra-light gauge strings myself. |

Thanks, that's about my third near-miss in recent weeks. I wonder what the record is for consecutive bottom-three finishes ... : ) |

Flowers Never Bend ...by GeneralEComment: Originally posted by jmlelii: Theres just too much confusion here in this photo. The flash against the glass also distracts. |
No flash, no glass -- just OOF shot of flowers being watered, with bright overhead sunlight.

Thanks, that was the effect I saw in this too -- I've never really done it before without using a filter, but this one is basically straight out of the camera. With this particular subject, I liked the OOF effect. |
