Leaning Left Bonsaiby RoosterComment: Bonsai was one of my alternate ideas ... I like the simplicity of this small one, and the contrast with the background. |

Monkey Puzzle Treeby GeeeComment: Looks like it could hurt to get in that position : )
I've been meaning to shoot one of these trees for some time -- thanks for the reminder and idea for an angle. |

Coffee at Midnightby iraklyComment: Originally posted by irakly: For the members of the Critique Club: before you say something, please realize that some people know a thing or two about photography. This statement seems unnecessarily confrontational -- I find likely to divert the CC member's attention away from your interesting photo, and to a consideration of your attitude, just as it has mine.
FWIW I "got" the context of a class/club and their model taking a break without much trouble ... the processing gives it a look which reminds me of an etching or other "old-timey" print, which I think works well for this image. |

. . .And a Cherry on Topby karmatComment: I considered submitting some whipped cream and a cherry and your title -- now I'm glad I chose something else, since mine probably would've finished way lower. Congratulations on a nice simple and effective shot. |

SWEET Cornby jfwolpertComment: This topic (though not composition) was my second-choice for an entry, and I'm not from the Midwest either ... : ) |

Resting in The Wordby Delta_6Comment: This light looks a little harsh for the subject; I'd be tempted to soften it a bit, and/or add a vignetted border to focus the brightest part of the light on the face and book; easier to do under Advanced rules. |

Containedby graphicfunkComment: The bright spots at the top pull my eye up and away from the boat -- I think I'd have cropped a bit lower or darkened them up a bit; though I like that the left one almost mirrors the shape of the sail. A nice assortment of background textures making up the negative space. |
