Perhaps not the simplest pleasure, but conceivably not the most elaborate one.
Available light. No photoshop tricks. I believe, Canon 1D Mark II.

oh, my comment was written in a context of a critique written to my previous photograph for a "stupid, stupid" challenge. your words seem to be much more adequate :) it is just my pesonal humple opinion that people must not be accepted to a critique club without screening. It seems like some people honestly believe that their words may help someone learn how to shoot better, but in reality they do nothing but harm to those who take their words for granted.

FWIW I "got" the context of a class/club and their model taking a break without much trouble ... the processing gives it a look which reminds me of an etching or other "old-timey" print, which I think works well for this image.

it is dull, really. this is a break during one of our evening classes during which our model volunteered to brew and serve coffee. the girl at the table is non-traditionally sexually oriented. that's all folks.

wow, seventeen ones and twos! too bad i cannot correlate them to my unpleasant, but honest comments under some masterpieces in this contest :)
can you believe this, someone actually sent me a private message in a desperate attempt to persuade me to reconsider my grade. he even said that he was not alone in his love to chocolate, but half of the participants here share his passion :)

Ahh now this is intriguing -- I'm guessing you have posted the address of this fine establishment in the description so we can all go there :)- nice range of tones in this.
09/12/2006 03:02:38 AM
If you didn't see all the cameras on the table, this picture would have been very odd!
09/12/2006 01:26:13 AM
appears a little weird. would love to know the story behind it. :)
09/11/2006 10:41:27 PM
I love it! 10
09/11/2006 01:19:31 PM
Sorry, but this is just plain weird.

Coffee? What were they drinking? Cameras on the table and mugs in hand... looks like a missed opportunity to me... at least someone got a great shot!
09/10/2006 09:50:23 PM
wtf? Gratuitous nudity = simple pleasures??? Doubt it. Even the people in the shot don't where to look! :D I'd vote low, but the photo is actually really well taken. Good light and tones. 5.
09/10/2006 02:04:42 PM
?? what kinda coffee meeting is this? quite intriguing and i like the look back at the camera.
09/10/2006 01:37:44 PM
This is a great image. I am interested in the story behind it. Seems like everyone at the table has a camera.
09/10/2006 10:37:06 AM
Which Starbucks is this??
09/09/2006 06:37:39 PM

09/09/2006 06:30:39 PM

09/08/2006 06:21:28 PM
Love your shot. Very strange atmoshpere in here. I especially like how the woman in the upeer right is looking at the nude girl. Interesting! 9
09/08/2006 04:29:02 PM
a striking image. very odd. the observers seem so disinterested. i'm interested!
09/08/2006 11:23:12 AM
wow makes me wonder what the situation was here
09/08/2006 01:41:50 AM
I have no idea why I like this other than it is really quirky and wrong. Great work!! 7
09/07/2006 11:54:55 PM
Of course I've come to this one a few times. It's a great picture, but I just can't make the "simple pleasure" of it. The picture and the title are especially discongruous. What's going on? Why are the people ignoring her? What does a naked women have to do with coffee at midnight? Great questions and a photo you could really stare at for a long time, but doesn't really fit the challenge for me. I'll give it a 5, but in the proper challenge it could have been a 10.
09/07/2006 10:56:50 PM
nit sure I understand what's going on, but I like the tones and the expression on the clothed girl.
09/07/2006 10:06:13 PM
wonderful wonderful wonderful. great composition, candid or not it apperas so. superb storytelling. well done.
09/07/2006 04:36:33 PM
This is a very comic image. I start wondering what kind of a place this is and whats going on.
09/07/2006 03:29:44 PM
Now that is different, like it. 8
09/07/2006 01:02:03 PM
I need to visit more coffee shops.
09/07/2006 11:26:23 AM
LOL
09/07/2006 10:47:18 AM
This is simply elegant! Obviously a break during a camera club or similar shoot where the model is comfortably liaising with the members. Simply pleasurable! Picture this elegantly framed and hanging on your wall - I can!
09/07/2006 08:19:16 AM
Nice one! But not too simple :)
09/07/2006 06:33:35 AM
Taken at a workshop, judging by the number of cameras on the table... Nice.
09/06/2006 12:42:36 PM
i love how the men aren't looking at the nude woman, but the other women is. very funny. 9 from me.
09/06/2006 11:47:07 AM
The place I would love to attend. lol 7 on first pass.
09/06/2006 09:01:54 AM

09/06/2006 07:19:28 AM
Can I have one or two... too...
09/06/2006 01:17:06 AM

09/06/2006 01:11:56 AM
Ummm she really looks put there...
09/06/2006 12:33:06 AM
