Alaska Morningby CJinCAComment: It's picturesque, but it looks overly processed and over saturated. It seems to have a lot of noise too. I think if it wasn't as processed (maybe that caused the noise?), it may have worked better. The picture and composition is nice though. |

Together Amid the Noise and Confusionby ColeyComment: Awesome shot/image. From an amateur's viewpoint (me), this image inspires me... I like the desaturation of the image except for the subject couple. Great technique in long exposure to convey that the "rest of the world is moving on" but "time is standing still for the love birds." Composition and technique is right on to create the concept that the couple are in their own little world...at least that's what I get from it. Has to be a top ten... |

Quit Life by bigjComment: Not voting in this challenge but wanted to comment.
Meets the challenge. Technically, it's well done conveying the message of quitting. The focus is right on on the side of the person's head. Even the lighting fits to conveys the "dark" mood/subject, and draws attention to what he is about to do or is contemplating. The person is looking down which adds to the gloom. So this is probably the most powerful image in the challenge. Even the thumbnail stands out for obvious reasons.
This image is the ultimate in terms of quitting, has a lot of emotional impact. If I were voting on the criteria of the challenge, art, and technical merit, I would probably rate it above average.
On a personal emotional level, I find it distasteful. I think this might be one of those images where viewers are going to appreciate what you are conveying, or hate it. Just my two cents. Good luck on the voting. |

Mazda RX-8. It Moves You.by arron_christensenComment: Nice shot. I like the blur of the pavement to show motion. Composition is perfect. The only thing I would like is for the front end to be lightened a touch to see a little more detail of the front end. I just noticed the perpendicular lines on the pavement; shot in a parking lot? I won't hold that against you :) Well done image. |
