The leaves look more red than green, did you turn up the red (maybe a touch or twoooo, tooo much? or maybe an enhansing filter?) The shot is very clear and the angle of the hydrangia is interesting, but I just can't get over the red saturation. What color was the plate (besides the trim)? 7 Swash

Who the girl or the bug? The girl seems too dark (shadowed) and off any kind of attention lines to be the subject, so I have to assume it's the car, which is old enough to have a regular california license plate. Less than appealing background. Good DOF. 5 Swash

Yup, looks pretty bizarre to me, too. I think I would have like this better without the cloud's shade on the hills behind. (yes, hard to ask for, but the hills seem pretty dark) I've seen this building (I think), but I can't remember where, it's really new, an art center if I remember correctly. This is a really nice picture, and I guess your connection to the challenge is the discovery of something new, a childlike wonder at the world. Title required. Color and focus are pretty darn good, framing is a personal choice thing. This is slightly off center. I usually like this type of framing, but in this case, the cut off shoulder and open spaces on the other side make it more seem like you were avoiding some subject matter to the right (as in: many divorced couple's wedding photos that exclude the bride or groom through cropping or scissors) 7 Swash

Is the sign antique? The metal does appear to be fairly rusty. Except for the twists in the metal hanger, the shot lacks interest, reason to hang on the wall, look at the pic more than once (that sort of thing). Focus is well executed, framing works well enough, but low interest points and a minimal application to the challenge. 5 Swash

Very nice! I like the full range of colors in this shot (what no reds?) I especially like the dark cloud looming, nice touch! The angle of the shot is very interesting and almost perfectly framed (cut off part of the front tire and the top of the exhaust). Plus I wish I could see the tool attached to the back of the tractor, but I am thinking that might have introduced other issues/problems. 9 Swash

I am very conflicted over this shot. It is WONDERFUL! The title seems to be referring to the building (background, not subject), but the thislte by itself is a wonderful shot. If you had titled this old flower/thistle/gone with the wind, whatever referring to the plant, this would be a 10, period. 9 Swash
