To me, this looks like a clam. Although the clam it's self probably isn't new, it IS however probably new to this boy. It's a new discovery. Your lighting is great and the background fits nicely. I wish the focus were a bit sharper, but I don't think anything is lost by the fact that it's not 100% perfect. Besides, if your camera is anything like mine, perfect focus is not an option. LOL. I like this shot. Good luck with the challenge.

Can't tell what he found....what is it? He is pretty new and very cute! Shadows on his face are distracting.

This is a really nice picture, and I guess your connection to the challenge is the discovery of something new, a childlike wonder at the world. Title required. Color and focus are pretty darn good, framing is a personal choice thing. This is slightly off center. I usually like this type of framing, but in this case, the cut off shoulder and open spaces on the other side make it more seem like you were avoiding some subject matter to the right (as in: many divorced couple's wedding photos that exclude the bride or groom through cropping or scissors) 7 Swash
