| 08/20/2002 06:33:00 PM | Hand Drawn Handsby sohrComment: Great shot, wonderful drawing, interesting coloration of the hand (waffling on like it/don't like it). I thought about doing something similar, but didn't. (I can't figure out the words about giving credit to Esher, but something along that line might have been a nice thing to do.) 8 Swash |
| 08/21/2002 06:19:00 PM | Pureby PatellaComment: I thought I had figured out how you did this, but no, I can't, so how did you do this? The only photographic issue I have is that the background is a bit too close in color value to the pencil bodies. Otherwise, this is a nice, interesting shot. 7 Swash |
| 08/21/2002 07:12:00 PM | Disappearing Actby mciComment: Wow, this is a great trick! Since you have the admin's note, would you be so kind as to "explain" your trick after the challenge? (Is it in your photo comments?) The pencil is sooo much sharper than the bills (is that part of how this trick was done?) (I think I may have figured this one out!) 8 Swash |
| 08/20/2002 07:43:00 PM | Ticonderoga Cutting by mcmurmaComment: This is such a clever idea! Nit - the root seems like it's bolted to the pencil? This is so good, I had to bump you up one, welcome to the nines! Swash | Photographer found comment helpful. |
| 08/20/2002 06:55:00 PM | MMMMM Good Pencilby waltomlComment: Great shot! That's a happy cat (and an unhappy pencil) Very good focus and depth of field. A "ten" shot would have included both ends of the pencil. Hey, you "borrow" that pencil from work! 9 Swash |
| 08/21/2002 06:51:00 PM | mechanical free fallby cq107Comment: Great idea! Love the action of this shot, just wish I could see it. I think I see four elements in this photo. Three seem to be mech. pencils, what is the fourth item? I think it has a white cap. IMO, too much blurrrr. Suggestion: use a more textured background and move the camera with the dropped items. That would blur the background for your sense of motion, while attempting to preserve your subject's viewability. But if blur is what you want, you got it! 7 Swash |
| 08/20/2002 07:50:00 PM | Poo Mooby MagsCoyoteComment: Focus seems to be on the white hat. I don't care for your angle of attack, it's too hard to see "what's going on". I don't get the pencil coral or the stuff in the background. Sorry, 5, Swash |

| 08/21/2002 06:56:00 PM | "You want me to hold what???"by marvinmartian79Comment: Great title! Looks like the cat already did some drawing, you missed it! (joke) Very nice pic of the cat, challenge met. You're probably going to hate this, but my suggestion: work the cat for a different expression. All of my cats are very expressive, esp. with proper motivation. They hate my camera! I might not be able to talk to animals, but I can "read" them. This one is mildly annoyed. Go for fully annoyed, or confused (cats are soo easy to confuse...) or whatever. Nice work! 8 (formally 7) Swash |
