I gave this an 8 Jimi - Had I given myself more time for review, I'd have gone-a-bumping on this one.

Great stuff.

I'm going through the entries, stopping at those images I feel have had the benefit of an unconventional eye and dwelling a little longer to try to see and appreciate what you saw. This is one of those images.

Positives: Great confidence in your subject to present it in such a bold manner - I like that. It has a very nice colour palette too.

Critical stuff: It seems rather 'smooth', I think a bit higher local contrast may have helped bring out some of the texture a bit more effectively.

Overall: Very nice work.

Positives: Guessing this is Rachel - great tones; an image full of subtlety - I like the shadows of the people, that curve of darkness on the left car and the reflections of the people in the right car; all very compelling.

Critical stuff: Nothing really

Overall: a very well crafted image.

Positives: Beautiful coloration and composition, love the warmth and clarity in your image. I really like the way we can see the plane of focus across the image too.

Critical stuff: Nothing at all

Overall: A well conceived and executed image that stands out from the crowd.

Positives: Nice composition and POV - I particularly like the hanging light fittings. The repeating geometry is of course effective as is the man who lends scale and orientation to the image.

Critical stuff: I find the image lacks any sense of drama - I think a high contrast monochrome with a vignette (removed in the bottom right corner) may have been more effective than this presentation.

Overall: An interesting idea but I'm not sure how interesting the result is.

Positives: I do like you concept here - I like a bit of oddness and the juxtaposition of hat and wood definitely offers that. I like your high contrast handling too.

Critical stuff: Not too much really - I like the way the forest is a bit blown, I wonder how it would have looked with a white vignette, I think this may have helped accentuate the look you have started to create here.

Overall: pretty effective image.
