I predict a personal worst on this one.

Shot as the sun was falling through an old, dirty window propped up. I asked her to look off to the side and get a serious look. Later she said she was thinking of something that frightened her, and I think it shows.

Good to see that you were wrong with your prediction! This is so fascinating Ken. And almost spooky too :) Congrats on 6th place!

Ken this is one of your finest work. Have you asked this beautiful child what frightened her to get this awesome look? It makes one just want to hug her and say "it's ok". You two make a great team in your creativity.

I actually thought I'd score about a 4.5. Twelve minutes before rollover I said WTF and put it in.

Lovely, evocative and rich, my only 10. I expect it to get about a 5.8, but its damn near perfect for this audience of one.

I tried several times to come up with the light setup that will result in something like your GREAT portrait, the best I've been able to come up with was this which falls way short of your result. I am hoping you will tell me about your setup. This is an incredible shot and I would give it a 10 without a doubt, but I am not voting in this challenge. Good luck !!!!

I love this shot! Shooting thru the dirty plastic/glass has really added a grungy feel and almost cinematic quality to the shot. Awesome!

For me - you created a world (the glass, the dust, the sideway look, the eyes, the tears like stains, the pressed hand) I can look at, yet never be able to fully comprehend - a frozen illustration of another soul. Inspiring.

Coming back to say that I see the glass playing a double role of both separation (of the figure from the world) and yet it also provides and enhances meaning (e.g. the dust suggesting something from the past, the stains hinting at tears, or maybe bubbles as the background can be deep water).

Coming back again to see if the magic has gone. It has not.

Interesting shot and very arty. Focus on the glass takes a bit away from the subject (person) but I do realise that if it was focused on the person it would look soft because of detail in glass.
