be seeing youby skewsmeComment: One of my Nixtery 9s. Wonderful composition, the dark sky is a surprise but works really well. I like how you have maintained perspective here. |

apparition by nixterComment: One of my Uber-Nixtery 10s. Brilliant mix of reflection and transparency, the figure on the right works so well. |

Leaving Townby tangueraComment: One of my Uber-Nixtery 10s. I really like the lenticular look here with the negative space and below. Perfect exposure for this scene. |

shadows of the past by jegerComment: One of my Uber-Nixtery 10s. And actually my favourite image in the challenge. The marks on the wall make it appear as if the occupants of the seats have been incinerated - the danger signs resonate this menace! Most of all though, I like the figure beyond the door. Were they here, or just passing.... Almost a thriller in a single image. Great stuff. |

Bliss by AllenPComment: One of my Uber-Nixtery 10s. So well crafted, a carefree mood captured; your processing is a perfect match for the scene. |

can't thinkby myceliumComment: One of my 10s. I can see the influence but doesn't say Nixter to me 100% - fully deserving of a 10 though, the combination of reflection, background and goods works wonderfully. |

spin by VitaminBComment: One of my Uber-Nixtery 10s.
This is gorgeous, perfectly judged - the light, the long shadow (cut off head noted), the carefree child and the mystery of the space itself. Brilliant. |

Subway to Subwayby drew_makeanimpactComment: One of my Uber-Nixtery 10s. Great judgment with the amount if blur here, the faces on the right are particularly compelling. |

Dark Futureby denboteComment: I'm going through the entries, stopping at those images I feel have had the benefit of an unconventional eye and dwelling a little longer to try to see and appreciate what you saw. This is one of those images.
Positives: I knew I'd seen this image before - it stuck in my mind (I remembered her bare feet in the mud) and I checked back on 1x and there it was. It is truly great work though, the figure, the scene, the depth you have preserved - all the way back to the background wreckage; all make for a fantastic, sensitive, thought provoking piece. I also like the way she is walking towards a dark place in your image, reinforcing the metaphor in your title with photographic luminosity.
Critical stuff: Nothing at all.
Overall: I expect to see this on the front page. An easy 10 from me to help it on its way. |

did I ever tell you about my friend Spike?by klkitchensComment: Kevin - I don't this this one has nearly the power of your 'rust' entry - the overlay of your 'political' view in the title of that one made that one very personal and felt like a truly artistic expression. To be honest, it was technically a better picture than this one too. This is still an interesting subject but has lost some of its first-time power. |
