8 6 4 EMERGENCY EXITby timfythetooComment: I'm going through the entries, stopping at those images I feel have had the benefit of an unconventional eye and dwelling a little longer to try to see and appreciate what you saw. This is one of those images.
Positives:Delightful (and highly structured) composition. The juxtaposition between the minimalist vehicle and the cheery children is tremendous. I really like the reflected 'No Parking' sign too. The slightly flat toning works really well - it offers a neutrality that doesn't seek to lead the eye allowing it to explore quite naturally.
Critical stuff: Nope
Overall: A charming and delightful image. |

A Manby JulietNNComment: Amazing physique, amazing light, great sharpness and contrast. However, I do think the eye is just a touch overdone...
Still a 9 from me though. |

april's adagioby bspurgeonComment: I'm going through the entries, stopping at those images I feel have had the benefit of an unconventional eye and dwelling a little longer to try to see and appreciate what you saw. This is one of those images.
Positives: I remember once hearing a summary review of the book 'The Road' as being 'bleakly beautiful' - and that's what we have here. I wonder if it was cold and windy - it looks it. There is the right amount of everything here - light, movement, contrast, sharpness, detail - all so well balanced.
Critical stuff: Nothing
Overall: Landscapes/seascapes (especially milky water ones) don't usually do it for me - but this one is very different and definitely pushes my buttons.
I wonder if this is Ben's entry...? |

Well, she didn't get puffy at all. Look at her bulging neck vein though! I did take some red out of her face but very little skin work was needed. |

The Hero by gyabanComment: You've managed to embue this image with all sorts of magic, I think it transcends your other creations because of the alignment between sentiment, intent and technical artistry.
I feel guilty, I didn't get to voting in this challenge and my 10 would have taken it into your top slot. It deserves to better your Emergency image.
Reading your notes is once again an inspiration.
You have outdone yourself. |

Saved by the Light by gyabanComment: Highest DPC score in the last 10 years - it's fitting that it goes to you.
I think people sometimes look at your PS work but forget about the amount of dedication you put into each of the shots and the overall project itself.
I like some of your other composite work more than this one, but I'm really pleased to see an image from you in the all-time top images.
I actually think you will beat this score - perhaps even very soon.
Well done. |

Crate Training by jagarComment: Well done John - it's that glow you get without compromising detail that is so compelling for me.
Always expected to be bettered here ;-) |

Unfortunate Christophe, I don't like overly photoshopped images. I have a real disdain for them, and thus vote accordingly. It's hard to offer a real critique because this is simply a case of I simply don't like it. |
That's a little ridiculous, this was an Expert challenge - the Photoshopping part is pretty much the point of the rule set.
If you feel like that, then don't vote in Expert challenges. |
