The Choice to Get Helpby traserComment: Kind of reminds me of one of my past submissions...
I like the bright light from the top left that is blowing out the fingers (implying the presence of God). It works in this photo. |

still one more day...by zjnztComment: A unique take on the challenge -- I haven't seen anything like this (yet), but it fits the challenge so well. Nice choice of topic. The DOF works well with the near items on the left being slightly out of focus, but not enough that we cannot tell what it says and the "day before" and target dates are sharply in focus. The trailing numbers are too in focus to compliment the 2, 3, 4 and the tip of the pencil is out of focus. I wish you would have made your focus point just a touch closer, but maybe you tried that and it didn't work out for some other reason. Anyway, nice execution overall. |

Waiting to Bloomby CDSComment: The color is great, the lighting is great. The Analogous colors of green with a touch of yellow contrast well with the complimentary red. The black background really sets it off. I also like the way the bud .. um pedal/outer thingies (I'm not a botanist) open toward the camera. The DOF is great-- I can see detail from the closest to furthest parts of the object. Meets the challenge: Hmmm. While everything in nature is in a state of change, I don't see "a sense of waiting" when looking at the photo.

Waiting for Wormsby rmlutgenComment: A little greater DOF would have helped this shot a notch or two. The bird's eye and leading edge of beak are out of focus and that blurred part is what keeps drawing my eye. |

Waterlily Pondby rj324Comment: This would have been a better photo and perhaps better fitting the challenge if you had gotten closer to the pond and aimed the camera more across it, with a waterlily occupying about 1/6 to 1/4 of the photo in either the lower left or lower right corner. That would give the photo something to draw the eye as the subject. As it is, this seems a little boring -- sorry, but better luck next time. I still give it a 5. |

Dream Cloudsby NeuferlandComment: Wny in the world would this photo need validating... unless someone saw a similar photo somewhere else on the web. Nice shot. Interesting use of cool greens with warm blue sky. |

Where Skyscraper Meets Skyby waterliliesComment: Nice reflection -- it almost makes the building look transparent. The way the cloud on the left lines up with the reflection is great. Did you have to wait for just the right time, or did you just get lucky? I would have cloned out the two spots in the sky that look like dust on your sensor. Such editing is allowed in this challenge. |
