Parallelby CoryComment: This is quite an abstract tour de force. I'm flabergasted. |

last summer's breezeby bspurgeonComment: But this is this summer and yet we contemplate last summer as we photograph a the new breeze as it reflects those of so many times before. Such a wonderfully contemplative, transcendental thought with (dare I say) metaphysical overtones. As some say, it's the thought (e.g. title) that counts. Enought stripes to qualify and more artistry than expected. |

Murder on Montrose Way by LevTComment: This makes me nuts. What's the banding on the top and bottom all about here? It's such a well thought-out shot and cleverly executed that it's an easy 9 but I find the affectations of the added borders very distracting. I really want to understand that decision so maybe I can see the light. I'm giving a reluctant 7 for capturing the noirish spirit with a bit of tongue-in-cheek in the proper aspect ratio (excepting borders). |

The Endby adigitalromanceComment: This not only has the mood but the art deco style of the early noirish era. Soo bad the aspect ration isn't very cinematic but ok as a poster.. maybe. 7 |

Tangled Webby JudiComment: "Everything but the girl..." is noirish but she seems too catty fashionable. Still a 6. Nevermind.. ok.. a 7. |

Luckyby dswannComment: Why not crop this down to a proper old movie aspect ratio? There's too much space on top anyway. And a major pain is that I don't remember any elegant frames on old movies. OK its a particular bugaboo of mine hating borders anyway but here it is totally contrary to the topic. Still a 6 although I wanted to giv e a 7 for good mood and execution. It's just not right for the reasons mentioned. My entry to this challenge is terrible and I know it but I had no time to stage something like this. Too bad this misses solely on compisitional grounds. |
