friends with sadnessby larimarieComment: I like the sad expressions on these little faces, but I would have liked to see something done to the photo to capture the mood. Off-centering the girls or perhaps using black and white, with your lighthing focused more on their faces than their pants would have added a more artistic touch. |

Hidden Lonelinessby CraigDComment: You really have to study this photo to see your focal point but once you do, it is quite an interesting perspective on the challenge. |

Abandonedby lykofosComment: The building is just too dark to be your focal point. It gets lost in the shadows, which may or may not be your intention, but in this case I think it would be better if we could see more of the character of the building. |

for saleby ursulaComment: One of my favorites so far. I love the mist in the background adding to the desolute feel of the tide abandoning the boat here. |

No mans Land...by musthafaComment: Although I understand what you are going for in this photo, it doesn't give me the feeling of desolution. It is a nice photo though with sharp colors and interesting shadows. |

Look Upby bobgaitherComment: The blue of the sky is wonderful. Such a contrast to the earth tones on the ground. |

Practice to Deceiveby crabappl3Comment: As this photo was loading and all I could see was the top two panels, I thought it was a broken window. But then, as the rest of the picture was revealed and I realized it was a spider web, your title really had meaning. I love everything about this picture, from the great lighting on the window panes and web to the blur of the background to the framing to the lack of color. Extraordinary shot. Good luck with the challenge. This looks like a ribbon-winner to me! |

"Grandpa Is Babysitting"by autoolComment: This is very cute. Very original and funny theme. Apparently she was moving her hands when you took the picture and the slight blur is a little distracting, but the colors are good. I do wish she didn't look quite so frightened. Doing the same thing but getting her to put a hand on her cheek and just look bored might be a little less disconcerting, considering you are using a child in the shot. You dont' want to get the idea that the child is distraught in any way. |

the stowawayby grigrigirlComment: This is one of my favorites. The muted colors and theme make this feel like a screen capture from an old movie. Her eyes are beautiful and haunting and I like how her hat and hair fade into the shadow of the trunk. If I could vote, I would definitely give this a 10. |

Deathby grigrigirlComment: I wish I could vote on this challenge. This is an excellent interpretation of the challenge. I love that the only real color is a slight tone to her skin but also the yellow flowers in the background. The placement on the page is near perfect, the symmetry of the foreground interestingly offset by the objects in the back. Beautifully done. Good luck. |
