try this,

next time when you convert to grayscale using the gradient knock out or down the blue channel first before you lay the grant layer on. I'm not sure how you do this in PS but in elements 2 you go to adjust color-collor variations- make sure it's set on midtones and then desturate...(I think ) blue You'll get a Yellowish cast. apply your gradient layer. you'll be surprised at the results

Lovely shot...
One small sugestion, Try converting this to sepia or gray scale what you'll notice is the amazing coposition in a shot like this without the collor to distract.

and you woun't incur the rath of those of us stuck in parts of the world not as green and lovely
