Summer Dreamsby BeetleComment: Composition: excellent - well balanced
Lighting: the flares on the necklace and crab to my eye seem to be off slightly from where they micht be actually
Color: very good, would like to see better definition between the silver and pink
Clarity: very good - as jewelry is a lot different texture than the natural elements, it looks slightly out of focus.
Lettering: average - I would have liked to see a different font used

Brotherhoodby L1Comment: Gorgeous Flowers, Cute boys and adorable dimples, Laurie :)
I wish the boys had been looking the same way, or up. The light on them is excellent. |

Against the Wave by max90034Comment: ***Critique Club***
First of all Congratulations on your 3rd place ribbon!
I like the composition, the wave breaking and his position on the wave are extremely eye catching and difficult to catch.
The color is slightly off in the water, the top of the wave on the right is almost a Kelly green along with the green in the wall of the wave. If you compare the color in this photograph to one of your other photographs
that appears to be taken at the same time, you see what I mean.
On the right side, over the water, it appears that you may have over-sharpened slightly. The noise there takes my eye to it almost immediately after I notice the surfer.
All in all, though, this is a beautiful photograph and earned youa well deserved ribbon! Message edited by author 2005-04-24 12:01:18. |

The composition on your photo leaves me wondering what to look at.
A change in position or a closer crop would have removed the stop sign and tree and given a better look at the bikers. The people that are in focus in the background almost lead my eye there as does with the light on the curb in the foreground.
The blur on the bikers is not enough to make them look like they're moving, they appear more out of focus than moving. A slower stutter speed may get you the speed movement that you are looking for.
I think you had a wonderful idea in taking this photo, taking moving objects is not an easy task for me so I give you a salute for your attempt! |

CRW_7619SB.jpgby pumaComment: The strings need sharpening a bit, as I learned recently when you shrink down an image to fit on DPC it takes that away a bit. If you did that the strings would pop.
The color shadows and lighting look very nice.
