Lightdome Over Orlando - Polluting the Night Skyby mwinnerComment: I'm an astronomer and I hadn't even considered light pollution as a possibility for this challenge. I like the concept. The lighting of the foreground if very nice. Wish the stars and moon were a little sharper. |

Beauty in the Undrinkableby aliquiComment: What is that? Mercury? I like the way the white background fades into the blue and looks like it has undulations in it. Would like a little greater DOF on the silver part and perhaps a little sharper focus so I could make out what it was. |

The Orchard Pathby colorcarnivalComment: Since you asked why your color on color did not resonate so well with folks I thought I would share my thoughts.
The color of the apple and the background are too close together. There is no real delineation. Seeing the original RAW conversion I can see that the beads are providing that delineation but it wasn't clear from the submitted photo. Also the background is a little too busy and draws my eye away from the foreground objects.
During voting I gave it a 5. Hope this is helpful. |

The Ocean (Houses of the Holy-Track 8)by SouthCoastOr3gonComment: Interesting photo. I like the sky color and the motion blur in the water. It's a little too busy, there is so much water motion that my eye keeps darting around the photo, jumping between the foreground water and the spray in front of the large rock. |

Down by the Seasideby whiterookComment: Nice color on the sunset. A little too much sky and foreground water for my taste. I would probably crop both the top and bottom a little. |
